Courses in the West Country in our working forge

Learn the techniques of the traditional Blacksmith in a maximum group size of 2.

On the Day

After a Health & Safety talk you will begin your time in the forge. Covering Fire management and a wider range of Blacksmithing skills tailored to the individuals needs. This will include Drawing down, Punching, Splitting, Fire welding, Leaves and Scrolls toolmaking.

Courses run from 10am - 4.30pm with an hour for lunch (either at our local country pub, or bring a pack lunch).

What's Included

• Insurance
• Safety Equipment, but please bring steel toe cap boots and old clothes (not wool or nylon) and wear long sleeves.
• All Materials
• Transport to and from local train/bus station if needed is included. (Airport transfers available at extra cost)

Plus anything you make you take home with you. Eg. Pokers, candle sticks, hanging basket brackets.


1 Day - £170 (excluding lunch)
2 Day - £340 (excluding lunch)
50% deposit required when booking.

We also run more specialist week long courses, and can arrange a B&B or holiday cottage.

Entrants on each course

There will be a maximum of 2 people on each course so you will work you own coke forge. Be prepared for Hard work!
